The 3 Ws of White Walls

Hey, we're White Walls! You may have seen us tagged in a post or two over the last few weeks but you might still be unsure of exactly what we are. Let's clear that up and break it down so we can get better acquainted 🤝

WHAT 📺

White Walls is democratizing art appreciation by activating the largest displays that we already own - our TVs.

Many brands have come and gone as they've attempted to build new physical displays to bring digital art into the home. Unfortunately for most, these displays are expensive and out of reach for the common collector and casual art enjoyer.

The White Walls ecosystem [currently] consists of two apps - A mobile app to verify your assets and control your display(s), and a smart TV app that streams the art directly from the blockchain into your physical space.

We often define White Walls as "The bridge between digital ownership and physical viewership"

Simply put, White Walls is taking a new approach to digital art display.

Mint it, display it, co-exist with it.

This is the future of art appreciation.

WHY 🫂

Current Web3 standards keep our works trapped inside the tiny screens of our phones and personal devices. We all spend so much time, effort, energy, and money in this space collecting art that we love... and then we let it collect dust in our wallets.

We believe...

1. Artists and collectors simply deserve better.

Artists should be able to see their work in the homes of their patrons, and must be given tools to connect physically with interested buyers.

Collectors should be afforded a low cost, simple, and effective solution to proudly display the works that they own.

2. Digital art has a legitimacy problem.

Friends and family outside of our little bubble of frens have a tough time grasping why digital art matters. Why blockchain matters. Why provenance matters. Why any of this matters.

White Walls' goal is to begin putting the works of incredible artists into living rooms around the world. In doing so, we can inspire real discussions and start the process of shifting that narrative. The simple act of bringing your owned works to your physical spaces can instantly allow people to see the art for what it is, and they can get over what they think it isn't.

White Walls is for the folks who love Web3, but it's also for the people who don't. It's for the crypto native, the crypto-curious, and the skeptical. It's about appreciation, legitimization, and... well, good vibes.

WHO 👥

During the 2021 boom @devonfigures, @0xDurkle and the @glitchlabsxyz team dreamt up a platform that could instantly convert any smart TV into a seamless digital art display. It seemed simple. It was a no-brainer. We ended the daydream absolutely certain that somebody would roll out this exact product in the coming months. A year passed. Then two years passed. We decided it was time to build a team and take the matter into our own hands.

We turned to our good friend @TheGreekTycoon1 to help us put a dream team together and start working on the operational side of things. We knew we would need an angel to fund the first rounds of development and ensure we made a splash as we entered the market. Greek introduced us to @Blondie23LMD who, as we all now know, is the Chad of all Chads. She instantly believed in the vision and jumped on board. At the time we didn't quite know how powerful the "Blondie Effect" would be - but she has been a true angel in every sense of the word and we're blessed to have her on the squad.

From there, we needed a rockstar developer. We interviewed many, but only one stood out. We engaged @backseats_eth and hit the ground running. His work ethic and dedication have rang true every day as he simultaneously does the job of several devs across the PWA, tvOS app, and backend.

Next, we wanted to make sure that our marketing and message were on point as we developed our go-to-market strategy. Without a doubt we knew that @shillrxyz was the right partner for us. Their team has proven to be wildly valuable and we've enjoyed working with them every step of the way.

Additionally, we've built out the structure for a stellar community team as we prepare to bring the app to the public. @YoDontMentionMe, @Toys_Soldiers, and @thejordean have been champions of the brand and we're so excited for y'all to interact with them more on Discord in the coming months.

So, that's the team. We're all passionate builders and enthusiasts who have chosen every single day to make this crazy space our home. To create something for everyone, and to [hopefully] directly impact the future of art appreciation.
